Belington Ice & Bottling Co.
1903—1911
The Belington Ice & Bottling Company incorporated in 1903 with a capital of $25,000 with the following incorporators: W.E. Stathers, S.A. Lewis, Floyd Ieted, J.A. Vignesney, and G.E. Cain (“Clarksburg In It”, 1903). J.A. Vignesney was an attorney and, while also serving as the president of Belington Ice & Bottling Co., also presided over The Citizens National Bank of Belington, the Barbour County Fair Association, and the Belington Board of Trade (“What Next?”, 1907). In 1910, the company was destroyed by a fire (“In West Virginia,” 1910).
According to Dun & Bradstreet, the company’s final year was 1911, but it appears in the 1923 Beverage Blue Book, so perhaps the company took a hiatus then restarted—there are no bottles of this age bracket known, however.
