Blossom Dairy Co.

1927—1961

The Blossom Dairy Company chartered in 1927 with incorporators Sam Slomovitz, Joe Brown, J.J. Steinmetz, F.M. Stambaugh, and W.L. Peters (“City Day”, 1927). Sam Slomovitz served as president and manager of the company (“Blossom Dairy,” 1931). By 1939, the company had an office at 116 Virginia Street West, and three other stores located at 1600 Washington Street East, 1214 Washington Street East, and St. Albans (Chesapeake & Potomac Tel. Phone Co. of W.Va., 1939). In 1961, the company issued a notice of dissolution (“Notice of Dissolution”, 1961), marking the end of the company in name. Blossom Dairy became Broughton’s Farm Dairy.
