Shelor’s Dairy
1937(?)—1948
Arthur Shelor’s Dairy appears first in 1937 in a list of grade A milk producers in Fayette County (“Majority of,” 1937). In 1948, Arthur L. Shelor passed away and his cattle and property were sold (“Sale of,” 1948). At the time of his passing, he kept 29 holstein and guernsey cows and 15 heifers.
White Oak Farm
1942(?)—1965
The first mention of White Oak Farm dairy is in 1942, when they appear on a list of dairies receiving a grade A ranking for their milk in Fayette County (“County Sanitarian,” 1942). In 1947, they places newspaper ads attempting to sell the dairy (White Oak Dairy, 1947). It was purchased and continued operations until 1965 or so (“Bowling,” 1965).
The original owner of the farm was V.L. Martin, and it was located near Sand Branch Road in Mount Hope (“Area Couple,” 1968).

Oak Hill
Maple Lane Farms, Inc.
1948—1967
The West Virginia Secretary of State records indicate this dairy chartered in 1948 and dissolved in 1967.
