Loop Creek Bottling & Ice Cream Co.
1914—1923
The West Virginia Secretary of State records indicate the Loop Creek Bottling & Ice Cream Company organized in 1914 and changed its name two years later, in 1916, to the Loop Creek Bottling Company. In 1922, the company was purchased by William Raies of Mount Hope (“Raleigh Co.”, 1922). In 1923, the company became Cline Cola Beverage Company (“Clines Enter”, 1923), from which I am unaware of any bottles, though this is the same company as Cline’s Ice Cream Company of Charleston. This marks the end of the Loop Creek Bottling Company, nevertheless.

Raleigh Coca-Cola Bottling Works (of MacDonald)
1923—1935(?)
In 1923, the Raleigh Bottling Works purchased the Cline Cola bottling plant (formerly also Loop Creek Bottling Company) to make it the second branch of their main operations in Mabscott (“Form Merger”, 1923). The first branch was in Mullens. The purpose of this MacDonald branch was to supply Fayette County, just as the Mabscott plant supplied Raleigh County and Mullens, Wyoming County. As of 1929, the management of the plant was the responsibility of G.A. Mohler, who also managed the Mabscott plant (Department of Commerce, 1929).
This MacDonald branch was later under management of R.F. Griffith. From advertisements, this branch was open until, at the earliest, 1935, as their ads continued to state their branches included Mabscott, MacDonald, and Mullens (Raleigh Bottling Co., 1935).
