William T. Doheny

1904—1914

William T. Doheny began a saloon sometime before 1904, as he is present in the Fairmont city directories of that year but not Dun & Bradstreet until 1906. Throughout the years, he was located in the Fairmont Opera House (R.L. Polk & Co., 1904; R.L. Polk & Co., 1913) at the corner of Monroe and Jackson Streets (“Application for,” 1909). It seems that Doheny packed his bags and left after prohibition became a statewide law (“Personals,” 1914).
