Dr. C.I. Butte Jr.

In 1936, McDowell County medical professionals including Dr. C.I. Butte, Dr. C.W. Vick (bottle below), and Red Cross nurse Mrs. E.B. Willis held a vaccination drive in Bluefield (“Jenkinjones, W.Va.,” 1936). Dr. Butte was highly active in Matoaka community affairs, leading me to believe he resided in Matoaka and worked in Elkhorn.

Jenkinjones
Dr. C.W. Vick
late-1920s—mid-1930s
Dr. C.W. Vick is mentioned as a Jenkinjones resident as early as 1927 (“Welch Personals,” 1927), though it does not mention his practice there. He is last mentioned in the mid-1930s.
