Morgantown Bottling Works

1901—1913

1901 is the earliest known reference to Morgantown Bottling Works in name (Bowman, 1901). At this time, it was located in the intersection of Walnut and Wharf Streets. By 1914, it relocated to 65 Walnut Street (R.L. Polk & Co., 1914) with John R. Hare as the proprietor (formerly of Hare & Jamison).

The span above is in reference to the range of years where they may have bottled this beer. It likely comes from the earliest times of the bottling works given the crude, tooled blob top closure (rather than a Baltimore-loop seal). Morgantown Bottling Works opened in 1901 and prohibition began in 1913.
