Chero-Cola Bottling Co.
1924—early 1930s
Chero-Cola Bottling Company of Sutton began business in 1924, selling soft drinks and ice cream (Daugherty, 1924). Fred Lorentz was its proprietor (H.S Rich & Co., 1925, 1930). Though I cannot find an end date, Chero-Cola was reformulated and rebranded as Royal Crown Cola in 1934, so it must have ended in name in the early 1930s.

Sutton Bottling Works — Juergens & Walker
1902—1914
Juergens and Walker were originally druggists/pharmacists in the Sutton area, including in Gassaway (R.L. Polk & Co., 1906). They then opened Sutton Bottling Works, but continued their drug business as well. The first mention of Sutton Bottling Works in name is in the 1902 Dun & Bradstreet (Mercantile Agency, Sep. 1902). The first Gazetteer they appear in is 1904 (R.L. Polk & Co., 1904). This company was always owned by Juergens and Walker, evidenced both by all the bottles bearing their name and historical documentation of its existence (Barton, 1908, 1910; Mercantile Agency, Sep. 1902). Their final appearance in records is in the 1914 Dun & Bradstreet (Mercantile Agency, Sep. 1914).
